♥Chance♥ (ONe-Shot)

/**Uhm I thought of this one shot Fanfic while I was on a boring tricycle ride on my way home. Hopefully you will feel the "kilig" I felt when I was writing this/. THis is waaaaay too simple though so don;t expect much hehe..**/

Mei entered a little convenience store with the sole intent of buying something she can eat. She was out the whole morning, roaming around the park, the mall, the city, the subway and practically everywhere. Now, all she felt was the thirst and the hunger.

While she was looking around, she caught sight of a magazine with a Japanese idol on its cover. Being the fan-girl the she was, she immediately ran to the rack and picked up the magazine. All hunger and thirst were forgotten as she was flipping through its glossy pages. Her eyes were constantly gleaming with occasional giggles here and there, as she browses and sees new pictures and articles.

At that time, cool guys with a haughty demeanor entered the store. He was wearing a black beanie hat and dark fashionable sunglasses because as far as he knows, he need a disguise. This guy was more popularly known as Jin Akanishi. Well, his fans call him "bakanishi" or "jinjin" from time to time.  He was a Japanese idol who was a member of a Pop boy group.

Jin somehow hated the screaming girls that usually multiply in front of him, even if he was just on a leisurely stroll. He, however, also hated it when nobody recognized him a bit when he entered the convenience store. "Well, I might be a Bakanishi after all," he thought to himself with a chuckle.

He had carefully planned that day since he very much intended to enjoy his once in a lifetime break from popularity. He wanted to spend it with someone so special to him, which was why he was on a disguise. So far, everything was working well for him. He had been to a lot of places just that morning alone. Normally he would have been so tired by now, but the laughter of his companion filled his mind.

He was strolling through the junk food aisle, when he noticed his friend Yamapi, who was also a pop star, was on one of the magazine covers. He automatically pulled out a copy of the said paper and took of his sunglasses, curious as to what the writer would say about his best friend. He flipped through the pages, while smacking his lips together playfully and sometimes play with his tongue that it forms “lollipop-like” spheres on his cheeks. He looked like ha has all the time in the world when he heard a very audible, very loud GASP!

“WHOAH!” Mei could not believe her eyes. “You’re… you’re… you’re…” she stammered, her heart making a huge leap.

“What?” Jin answered with an expressionless face, facing Mei directly.

Mei’s heart skipped a beat. How can a dreamy voice be so melting even with a poker face? She thought to herself. Uh-oh Fan-girl ALERT! I should stop it. She pinched herself secretly and calmed herself down. Then she started blabbering.

“I think I know you, you look so familiar even if you so conveniently tried to hide your hair with that disguise of yours.”

“Huh?” was all Jin could mutter.

“Well, actually I changed my mind. Now, that I have calmed down a bit, I’m sure you are not him”.

“What are you talking about?” Jin asked, raising his eyebrows.

“You see, when I saw you earlier, I thought you were my ultimate Jpop idol Jin Akanishi. Do you know him?” without waiting for a response, she continued her blabber, “He is popular you see, but looking closely you look way cuter than him. He has a charm, I know, especially when he sings. Then, he always acts this sexy on his music videos but in fact he is shy. He also acts funny on variety shows, which is probably why a lot of girls are into him

You on the other hand, hmm you just stand there and you already look cool. I can’t believe there are no girls behind you drooling and giggling or asking for your autograph. ” Mei just continued on and on and on.

Jin just stood there motionless, staring incredulously and the very talkative girl, wondering how could he be mistaken as someone else correctly. If that made sense.  How can he be mistaken as Jin when he in fact IS him? How can this girl, who knows him so well could not recognize him? With each word that the girl utters, a frown continuously forms on Jin’s forehead. He could not understand whether he should be happy or annoyed by her statements.

“Are you and idol yourself? I wouldn’t be surprised if you were, because…” she looked at Jin from head to toe, “you really are way cooler than my idol Jin Akanishi”

SMACK! A magazine just hit Mei’s head.

“Ouch! What did you do that for?” Mei asked Jin with teary eyes. Apparently Jin just rolled up the magazine he was holding and hit Mei playfully on the forehead.

“What is wrong with you Mei-chan?”Jin asked.

Mei just answered with a pout, wanting to show Jin that she was hurt. She looked so cute and her lips became fuller that Jin’s insides fluttered even in his annoyance.

“As far as I know” Jin continued in boastful voice, “I am your Japanese idol and the last time I checked I am more than that to you. Of course I am cool!”

“Pffft! Conceited!” Mei said with a teasing smile.

“And you’re weird.  I was just waiting outside waiting for you to come back. You didn’t even look for me did you? ” Jin said this, looking like a cute poor puppy. “Anyway, it’s hot outside, so I came in, then you suddenly pulled this act on me?”

Mei just answered with a “He he”. With a sheepish smile and glint on her eyes, she screamed “Gotcha!” followed by her tingling laughter.

Jin heaved a sigh and rolled his eyes. He tried to show his annoyance but Mei pinched his cheeks and said, “You are so cute with the blank look you had earlier you know.” Then she continued to laugh. Each note was like music to Jin’s ears.

“Is this how you always talk to guys you find cool on a grocery store? Do you always do those blabbering and flattering words so they get to talk to you?” Jin suddenly asked. He frowned and turned her head away from Mei, not looking at her directly.

Mei stopped laughing, as far as she knows there is no one yet that could surpass her awesome Jin. She wasn’t about to admit that of course so, with a tune she said “Hmm, my Jin is acting jealous so he’ll look adorable.” She cooed just like talking to a baby.

Jin smirked a bit at her tone. Dang! Where were his acting skills when he needed them? He really wanted to get back at Mei on her act but he was failing miserably with just one smile from her.

“Actually, I was reading this article from a fan who met her Jpop idol by coincidence. So I was wondering what it would be like” she stated.

“Well as if you did not meet me,” Jin countered.

“Uhmm… that was different.” Mei smiled then moved closer to Jin, tilted her head upward so their faces were only inches apart. She didn’t know where her courage was coming from but she surely is internally shaking. Here nerves were at its end.

Jin on the other hand, felt that his heart jumped to his throat. A tingle ran down his spine as Mei’s face moved closer and closer. He gulped and took a deep breath to calm himself. When suddenly Mei’s hand flew to his face and pinched his nose.

That was different because I personally came to see you a fan meeting. You saw me along with all the fans of your group.” She said this, still pinching Jin’s nose.

All the while Jin struggled to take Mei’s hand off of him and free his nose, uttering “Ouch! Not the face. Don’t ruin my selling point” Inside, he was disappointed, angry relieved and amused all at the same time.

Mei smirked, carefully hiding her thumping heart. She had never seen Jin’s face that close before. With a few centimeters more, her nose would have touched his and then she might have exploded. So she continued blabbering, while internally laughing at Jin’s expression.

“Anyway, the magazine says that if you by any chance meet your idol in a public place, you can pretend not to recognize them. You should pretend that you not a fan. IN that way they won’t run away from you. Hmm that’s really interesting, I wondered if that worked”

“That’s silly” Jin scoffed.

“No its not.  It makes sense in a way. How can you get an autograph though or a picture if you’re going to pretend? That’s difficult” Mei said this thoughtfully with another pout of her lips and again caused another jolt on Jin’s stomach.

“Stop thinking about it. I’ll introduce you to some stars and make sure you get a picture so you won’t worry about this stuff.” Jin muttered.

“Really? Is that a promise? ” Mei looked at Jin with raised eyebrows. “Will you introduce me to the guys in your group, to your best friend, Yamapi and to all the drama actors?” she continued with sparkling eyes.

“Hey, hey why are they all guys?” Jin asked, smacking Mei’s forehead.”Jeesh! You’re such a fan girl”

“If not guys, then does that mean you only have a lot of girl idols as your friends?”

“Well, what do you think?” Jin smirked.

“Hey” Mei threatened.

“I can’t help it. I’m that popular”

“Then, I can’t help it either; I like a lot of pop stars that are guys”

“That’s unfair. You’re mine”

And so they continued bickering and teasing each other. Mei, who never gives up when it comes to verbal fights was enjoying herself. She praises herself for being witty with words. However, she congratulates herself for having Jin. Though the guy is an idol, naughty and sometimes full of air, he is actually shy and wears shades when he is uncomfortable with the attention. He is actually sweet and cuddly and needs a hug every time he is sad. Plus, even though a lot of girls are after him, he is alone and most of the time lonely, which makes her want to take care of him.

Jin can’t believe his luck that of all the million fans he has, he found a weird and an unpredictable one. This girl never fails to surprise him. She looks normal on the outside, even timid and demure but she can beat you at any video games and talks like guy. Right now, even as they argued and tease each other, her wittiness overpasses his. She can drown Jin with her charming smile and bright bubbly smile. He can’t imagine her pretending not to know a star when she sees one because she would probably be literally jumping up and around screaming.

As Mei as gathering chips and picking out a drink. Jin wondered what could happen next. Just as she was near the cashier, she made a detour towards him and gave him a peck on his lips. It took him by surprise that his forgot to breath for a second.   Pretty bold for a simple girl, he thought as Mei placed her stuff with a bright smile to the cashier. Which is probably why I fell for you in the first place .  He touched his lips and then smirked.
