/**Maeka’s Note: This very small Fan fiction “ficlet” was created for the purposes of entertainment and to fill up our “kilig” moment needs. Haha. The content of the story is not even a stroke of genius, it is just so simple even a 14 year old kid can think of it hehe. This is dedicated to Juicy who really really adores Toru Yamashita of One Ok Rock. @ juicy forgive the lame picture edits, I only created that in less than 5 mins Also forgive any errors, typos, grammar mishaps and OOCness because I typed this all in without proofreeading. Typical lazy me
Disclaimer: I do not own Starbucks nor do I get paid whatsoever to mention their name. I do not own One Ok Rock their songs nor do I own Toru Yamashita (though I’m sure Juicy would like to own Toru someday nyahaha)**/

~Living Dolls by One Ok Rock
“One Peppermint Hot Chocolate for Mae!” was a shout that rang throughout the small, side-street, Starbucks café, as three girls entered that same store.
“Huh?! A coffee for me? I haven’t even ordered yet” blurted one of the the 3 girls, who coincidentally was named Mae C. The two other girls immediately laughed at her confused face and Mae even earned a slap on the shoulder from the other.
“Hahaha. It’s because your name is so common Mae Hahaha” A petite girl with short hair continued to laugh while ushering her two friends to move to the front and line up for their orders.
Joceann or more commonly known by her friends as Juicy, invited her friends to hang out at Starbucks that day. It was one of her rare vacation days, and she finds that she was bored, alone and with nothing to do at her apartment building. Not that she didn’t make an effort. She actually tried watching Asian dramas and went through the hassles of re watching One OK Rock videos and concerts. But even after all of them were replayed for the nth time, she still had more time to spare.
So armed with Google maps, she searched for the nearest café and then blasted a message to her friends, Karen and Mae C.
That day became their Frappuccino day.
“Let’s all order and give a different name then!” Karen beamed like a light bulb lit up on top of her head because the idea. “I’ll be Angel because I love Angelina Jolie” she announced with all smiles and her eyes widened with excitement.
“Cool! I’ll be Mao” Mae C added. She then turned, looked at Juicy, and asked “You?”
“You’ll see!” Juicy answered with a silent smirk and a slight pink blush coloring her cheeks. The name she had in mind, always make her smile and go through a series of giggling lapses. While her imagination is already somewhere else, she was only rewarded with raised eyebrows and an Are-you-ok? look from her friends.
Mae C and Karen already made and paid for their Frappuccino, so the employee turned to her and asked for her coffee choice. Juicy looked a bit on the menu found the top of the cashier, she loves the color pink so regardless of the flavor, she ordered a Strawberry & Créme Frappucino.
“Can I have your name Ma’am?”
“Toru”
If the employee was confused, she did not show it and just promptly wrote Toru on the Coffee cup.
Even though the employee did not show any reaction, her friends on the other hand almost cricked their necks when they turned to he. They knit their eyebrows together and glared at her with a What-do-you-mean-Toru? look. Juicy just laughed, shrugged her shoulders and went to one of the closer tables to wait for their coffee.
The store was packed with customers. The short-haired girl wondered why coffee is such a popular drink that people can’t seem to live without it. Well there are other drinks right? Why Coffee? It’s not that she was against coffee but there is also tea and other healthy drinks, isn’t there? These thoughts were whisked away on an alternate universe though, because Mae C and Karen followed her to the table and a lengthy chat about various topic ensued.
They were laughing like no other, and was even noisier than any other tables. What with Mae C, recounting here childhood stories of when she climbed a tree and fell, or when she copied the handwriting of her mom so she can get a cupcake of her own. There is no telling when these 3 will stay quiet or when they will run out of topics to talk about.
Though a lot of other people came in, only a few were left to actually stay and lounge themselves at the café , so no one really bothered them or asked them to shut up. :D
“Tiramisu Frap for Mao and Double Chocolaty Frap for Angel” the employee shouted the coffee products and the names written on the cups with sunny and perky voice, which was the only reason that halted the chat of the three girls.
“Oh about time! I’m craving for chocolate already” Karen muttered and then shouted with the same perky voice as the Starbucks employee,“ I’m Angel! Thanks” then accepted her drink. Mae C followed and got her Tiramisu drink, and even read the employee’s name plate and thanked her personally by name.
“One Strawberry & Créme Frappucino for Toru!” was the next phrase that was heard throughout the store. The ‘Mao’ and the ‘Angel’ hid their laughter behind their drinks while Juicy just stood up and shot them with a nasty look to silence them.
Before she could even say a word, A tall and lean guy came up to the employee and said “UHmm I’m sorry Miss, I actually ordered a Caramel Macchiato” His baritone voice was coated with confusion and a hint of annoyance.
“Uh-Oh” Juicy thought to herself, she did not mean to have her drink mixed up with someone else’s just because of a name. She may look mean sometimes but she actually does not want to cause inconvenience to anyone. So, she hurriedly came up to the counter to retrieve her pink drink.
Even with hurried steps, she never failed to notice the back of the tall guy currently trying to correct his order. He wore a simple white T-Shirt, black pants with a checkered long sleeves tied to his waist which served as a cool and fashionable decor, a black beanie with bits of his blondish hair peeking out. He strongly reminded her of someone but she ignored it seeing that her Strawberry drink is in danger.
“I’m sorry sir,” the employee apologized and was about to go back when Juicy interrupted her and said “ Uhm sorry but that’s mine!” offering her prettiest smile and apologetic face to lessen the tension.
“Your name is Toru?” the guy asked incredulously. His eyebrows are probably raised, Juicy thought. His voice though, was well toned like the ones you hear as back up vocals but is the type that sends shivers to your spine when you hear it up close. Juicy thought of a certain guitar-genius because of that voice.
To hide her embarrassment, Juicy said “No, but I’m destined to be with a man named Toru” and she finished that line with a smirk before turning to the guy and face him.
The man’s eyebrows were indeed raised and he was actually wearing a very fashionable black-framed glasses, but that did not hide the curious and somewhat shocked expression his eyes. He then smirked and asked, “Really?”
Juicy was tongue-tied and almost dropped her drink. A black beanie with blondish hair, black-rimmed glasses and a very handsome face was staring back at her. It’s no wonder his voice reminded her so much of a guitar-genius because she is actually staring at Toru Yamashita. The Toru Yamashita of One OK Rock. The same guitar-genius she sometimes fantasizes as her boyfriend.
“Iced Caramel Macchiato for Toru” the barista shouted but Juicy was still unable to move..
“Ah here is my drink.” The real Toru took the caramel drink from the girl-employee and then he turned towards the still unmoving Juicy.” So see yah destined-for-a-man-named -Toru- girl” He said the last line with a quote and quote motion with his fingers then winked at her.
Toru reached his table, sat down and exhaled a ‘Whew’ which blew a bit on his side fringe. He took a sip of his Caramel Macchiato, the one that he almost never got, thanks to a certain other “Toru”. He smirked and almost laughed at himself. He knew for a fact that he was many things; actor, dancer, back-up vocals and lead guitar of a band, but he was never one to tease a girl that he just met. In fact, Toru has always been shy with the female populace.
Yes! Shy.
Ironic. Isn’t it? One would think that the Toru Yamashita of One OK Rock, the very same who conquered the hearts of hundreds of girls around the world, with just his looks and guitar skills, would be very good at managing these girls. But NO. This guy is shy and often times doesn’t know what to say to them. It was always Taka, their vocalist, who is good at associating with girls. Even the guys, now that he thought about it. Taka was always the approachable, friendly and sociable one.
Thus, Toru wondered what made him say those lines to the girl at the Starbucks store he was currently lounging at. He was scheduled for a band practice an hour later that day, and since he was early with time to spare, he crossed the street from their studio to the café to relax a bit.
HAHAHAHAHA
Toru heard the laughs of the 3 girls two tables away from him, which brought his attention back to the petite girl with short hair and pretty face. Uh oh, did he just thought her pretty?! That was weird. She was now attentively listening to the very animated girl on her right, somehow retelling a story about her childhood.
No he was not at all eavesdropping, the storyteller-girl’s voice was so loud he couldn’t help but overhear how she outwit her mom into thinking she owned the coins she took from her. It was funny but Toru did not laugh. Laughing alone in his table would not look good at all. So he took his mobile and was browsing through his mail. His eyes from time to time strayed to the other table.
Then there was that one time, that infinitesimal second, their eyes met. While he stared and looked at her with a bemused expression, the girl looked embarrassed and looked away with her cheeks the same color as the Strawberry Frappuccino she was drinking.
Toru’s heart skipped a beat. Earlier, what caught his interest with the girl was the way she casually yet confidently announced that she was destined to be with a man named Toru. While other girls might have that hopeful, longing and dream-like expression on their faces, she on the other had has a confident and haughty expression, as if someone let her in on some secret on who she will end up with in the future.
He also had the inkling that she was referring to him, which was why he couldn’t resist the urge to tease her about it, if not to take away the confident expression on her face. Now all he see is a blushing girl, timid and demure.
Toru was actually expecting the girl to stare at him, probably move her chair closer to his, get his attention by doing unnecessary things. What with him as the man supposed to be destined to her. However, she was still ignoring him! Which left him confused and now more interested with that same girl.
So with confidence, he never knew he had, besides performing on the stage, he stood up and moved to their table.
Tsk! Taka’s personality must be rubbing off on me. I’m beginning to be like him sometimes.
“Hil!” He said simpy when he reached the table with the girls. His eyes were mostly glued on “Toru”. I really need to avoid Taka sometimes, having his personality is somehow scary.
(still not done, and I don’t know what I’m writing anymore haha)
Yey! I really really like it oi! Bitin lang Mae-Ka! Hehehehe
